| Chiang Mai Orchid - elegant hotel located in the south west of the city, going towards the peak of Doi Suthep. It's just outside the old city walls and a short ride to the night market area ( hotel has free transfer service) . Stylish lobby -blue tiles with layers of lacquered teak - gives the hotel a warm, Northern Lanna feel that's enhanced by the sounds of traditional Thai music rather than Kenny G. Superior and Deluxe rooms both attractively appointed with modern fittings and Thai paneling, the latter on the higher floors of this 10 storey building and benefit from bigger, well lit bathrooms. Executive rooms on the two top floors are larger and have a raised living room area with armchairs and tv, roomsafe and the trimmings of bathrobes, slippers and hairdryer. Star restaurant is an excellent modern Chinese and facilities include a large pool with bar and well equipped fitness centre on the 4th floor. Pictures do not do justice! |
