China Princess - one of the few notable hotels to be found in
the heart of Bangkoks atmospheric Chinatown area. This
is the old centre of the city and its narrow streets,
general bustle and turn of the century shophouses create
a different ambience to the rest of modern Bangkok. It's
also a good location in terms of its proximity to most of
Bangkoks historical sights. The hotel occupies the top
two thirds of a 25 storey tower giving some rooms
panoramic views of sights such as Wat Arun, Wat Tuk and
the Golden Mount. The rooms form a section of a circle so
sidewalls converge to avoid the usual box like feel.
Facilities include a health club, business centre,
Japanese rooftop restaurant and, not surprisingly, one of
Bangkoks top Cantonese and Szechuan restaurants - Sing
Ping Loh.

Highlight |
Chinatown- The Grand Princess is a comfortable, friendly hotel with all the amenities necessary to attract custom in the competitive world of Bangkok hotels. But its major plus is its location rather than the hotel itself. Chinatown still maintains a city within a city feel. It's the home of the Thieves Market and centre of a range of trades from gold jewelry to gravestones. The area is an interesting stroll by day and a gastronomic paradise for lovers of Chinese food by night, when an array of roadside restaurants are set up to cater for Bangkoks populous Chinese community. |
