Manhattan - friendly Bangkok hotel, popular with long stay residents, in the heart of the Sukhumvit area and a few yards away from the daily night market. A short walk to Nana or Asoke skytrain stations. Spacious marble lobby leads on to 24 hour International restaurant ; two other restaurants supply Korean and Japanese cuisine. Rooms wont make you swoon but are certainly comfortable and clean, whilst facilities include a heart shaped outdoor pool, sauna and a fitness centre. Coffee shop offers one of the best hamburgers as hotel owns cattle farm outside of Bangkok! Good value - and frequently fully booked!

Sukhumvit nightmarket- a few yards from the hotel is the beginning, or end, of this daily parade of street stalls that stretches several hundred yards down the main road. Be prepared to bargain hard to acquire the latest Rolex or Calvin Klein jeans for just a few dollars - all genuine of course! Other than the fakes there's a wide range of Thai handicrafts, reasonably priced but of variable quality. Negotiation is by calculator only, at many stalls - they provide a living for part of Bangkoks deaf & dumb community. |
