| Monarch Lee Gardens - a short walk from the Patpong entertainment district and night market, close to the river and in the heart of Bangkoks business centre. This is a gleaming, high rise hotel with its tone set by the black marble lobby and elevator walls padded by green leather. Light, modern style bedrooms lead to marble bathrooms with seperate shower , hairdryer bathrobes etc. The hotel has strived, successfully for a sense of style - even the corridors are beautifully lit in a somewhat art deco fashion. Facilities include a shaded outdoor pool and small, but modern, fitness centre, jaccuzzi and sauna. Japanese restaurant with stunning contemporary decor affords nice views of Silom - but they're even better on the 38th floor where Ti Jing provides Cantonese cuisine & an excellent dim sum all you can eat lunch. |

Palais du Monarch- a room with a split personality. Up on the 37th floor it effectively divides into two with one half providing an armchair lounge bar setting and the other formal Western dining of a largely French persuasion. Comfortable but modern setting , great views on either side and a live band Monday - Saturday. |
