Highlight

 Cheap Charlies- a landmark bar just a few yards from the hotel. Bar is probably setting the tone a touch grand as it's basically a lean-to arrangement at the side of a small lane. Patrons used to lean forward to risk colliding with the odd local racing driver but addition of a Checkpoint Charlie type barricade has killed that sport. Interesting range of bar bric-a- brac, but it's the cold, cheap drinks ( Heineken, G&T etc all 50 baht) that attracts a  combination of locals, ex pats and tourists. Open 5pm til late. Closed Sunday.
